Maria's goal is to transfer to the U of A, major in Family Studies and pursue a degree in law with a specialization in Family Law. She has been active in her community, and has volunteered with CODAC Behavioral Health Services working with youth and teaching preventive classes, leadership and personal well-being. In her classes, she uses her bilingual skills.

Spring Semester, Maria was invited to become a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. She is proud to pledge to continue her community service through this student honorary organization.

Ivette Arias

Ivette Arias
Ivette's goal is to pursue a career in Public Health. She volunteers at a clinic in Nogales with a doctor who practices Obstetrics and Gynecology and she is also considering Cardiology and Dentistry. In her home town of Nogales, Arizona she has helped elementary school children to improve their English skills and prepare them for the Aptitude Inventory Measurement test which is linked to school funding

Ivette has also been active with the Southern Arizona Health Educational Center in a project promoting the benefits of biodiesel fuel.
