Tucson Mexico Sister Cities
Rocky Point Symphony Youth Group Needs your help!

Dear Friend,

Tucson-Mexico Sister Cities requests your assistance with a cultural project for our Sister City of Puerto Peñasco, Mexico. Currently, there is a great need for children’s musical instruments to further develop a symphonic youth group in that city. This group is headed by a music teacher who has been providing classes to these children utilizing a limited number of instruments. In fact, even with the scarcity of instruments, a number of these children were able to participate in a Christmas concert held in Hermosillo, Sonora this past December. The ages of these eager potential virtuosos range from 8-15 so any instrument would be appreciated. A private school in Puerto Peñasco has provided a classroom for the lessons to be held. However, the classroom is becoming too small for the number of children attending the classes and rehearsals. Should you not be able to help by donating a gently- used instrument, please pass this on to anyone you may know who has had children in a musical group and who may have an instrument stored away somewhere. Please feel free to call me at (520) 548-8881 for any further information. We will gladly make arrangements to pick up your item.

List of instruments requested:

Clarinets, flutes, violins, violas, trumpets, bass, trombones, oboes, percussion and any other musical instruments.

Cordially,

Donna Whitman
Puerto Peñasco Representative
